About Tidal
Tidal is a subscription music streaming service for listeners who want higher sound quality than standard compressed streams. Music streams as lossless FLAC in stereo. Selected tracks are also available in Dolby Atmos when played on supported devices.
Tidal used to offer MQA encoding but ended MQA support in July 2024, so anyone who chose it for MQA playback should check what their hardware now receives. It suits people with decent headphones or a hi-fi setup who want lossless streaming from a large catalog.
