About TortoiseGit
TortoiseGit brings Git into Windows Explorer. Overlay icons show the status of each file, and a right-click context menu provides Git commands, so you can commit, pull and push without opening a separate program or a terminal.
It is open source and releases regularly. Version 2.19.0 in June 2026 included several security fixes, and 2.19.1 followed. Language packs are available. It suits Windows users, especially those coming from TortoiseSVN.
