About TrueNAS Community Edition
TrueNAS Community Edition, formerly TrueNAS SCALE, turns a computer into a network storage server built on the OpenZFS file system. You install it on your own hardware and manage it through a web interface, and it can also run applications in Docker and host virtual machines.
It is the free, open core edition of TrueNAS. Features such as high availability, Fibre Channel and FIPS-validated encryption belong to the paid Enterprise appliances. It suits homelab users and small offices building their own NAS.
