About Valhalla
Valhalla calculates routes from OpenStreetMap data. It focuses on multi-modal routing, isochrones showing how far you can travel in a given time, and dynamic costing, which lets requests adjust how different roads and paths are weighted.
It is a self-hosted server with Docker support in the repository, so it suits developers and organisations that want their own routing backend rather than a commercial directions API. The project is actively developed, with more than 14,000 commits.
