About Void Linux
Void Linux is a general purpose operating system built on the Linux kernel. It is not based on another distribution: its package manager, XBPS, and its build system were written from scratch by volunteers. Software comes as binary packages or can be built from the XBPS source packages collection, natively or cross compiled.
Void is a rolling release that aims for stability rather than the newest versions. A continuous build system turns changes in the void-packages repository into binary packages. It uses runit as its init and service supervisor and runs on a variety of platforms.
