wallabag

Self-hosted read-it-later service that keeps a clean copy of articles.

These buttons open the developer's own site, repository or store listing in a new tab. wares.gg does not host downloads.

About wallabag

wallabag saves web pages for later reading, extracting the article text and storing it so the content survives the original going away, with tagging, full-text search, annotations, export to EPUB and PDF, and RSS output. Browser extensions and mobile apps exist.

Strengths

  • Keeps a permanent readable copy, so link rot does not lose the article
  • Exports to EPUB and PDF and publishes your saved items as RSS

Limitations

  • Article extraction fails on some sites and needs site configuration files
  • Self-hosting requires PHP and a database, or a paid hosted account
