About XCP-ng
XCP-ng is a turnkey virtualization platform derived from XenServer, installed directly on the hardware and administered through Xen Orchestra or the XCP-ng Center client. Every feature is available without a licence key, and Vates sells support and the packaged Xen Orchestra appliance.
Strengths
- No feature is locked behind a licence key
- Xen Orchestra adds backup, replication and a web console across a pool of hosts
Limitations
- Xen Orchestra's prebuilt appliance is a paid product; the free path is building it from source
- Hardware compatibility follows Xen, which is narrower than KVM
