Replacements

Listings that take over the same core job as Zoho WorkDrive.

  • Google Drive

Google's cloud storage and file sharing service with desktop sync and mobile apps.

Google Drive replaces Zoho integration with Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, offers 15 GB free and apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, but requires a Google account.

  • Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft's cloud storage, built into Windows and Microsoft 365.

Microsoft OneDrive ties storage to Windows and Microsoft 365 with Files On-Demand, adds macOS and iOS apps, and offers only 5 GB free with no Linux client.

  • Box

Enterprise content platform with governance and compliance controls.

Box also targets organisations, adding retention, classification and audit controls for regulated teams plus desktop and iOS clients, though its personal free tier caps file size tightly.

  • Dropbox

The original file sync service, with clients on every platform.

Dropbox brings a mature sync engine with clients on every platform including Linux and iOS, but its free tier is only a few gigabytes and caps linked devices.

  • Tresorit

Swiss zero-knowledge encrypted storage aimed at businesses.

Tresorit adds zero-knowledge encryption with enterprise access controls and European data residency on all major platforms, but it is paid, closed source and has no meaningful free tier.

  • kDrive

Infomaniak's Swiss-hosted cloud storage for storing, sharing and syncing files, with online office editing.

    FreemiumProprietaryWeb

kDrive moves team files to Swiss hosting by Infomaniak, with collaborative editing through OnlyOffice or Microsoft 365 and desktop sync apps, but requires an Infomaniak account.

  • Nextcloud

A file sync and collaboration server you run yourself, with desktop and mobile clients that behave like Dropbox.

Nextcloud moves your files onto a server you run yourself under the open-source GPL-2.0 license, adding calendar, contacts and desktop clients, but updates and backups become your job.

  • Pydio Cells

Self-hosted document sharing and management platform.

Pydio Cells is self-hosted under AGPL-3.0 with granular permissions, workflows and audit trails for shared documents, though it is heavier to operate and enterprise features are paid.
