About Nextcloud
Nextcloud is the server plus the clients. The server holds files, contacts, calendars, shared links and, with apps installed, office documents, chat and video calls. The desktop client syncs folders and supports virtual files, so a large library shows in the file manager without filling the disk.
Because you run the server, the storage limit is your disk and the privacy policy is yours. That also means you are the one applying updates, taking backups and getting a certificate, and Nextcloud upgrades have a reputation for needing attention.
