About Actual Budget
Actual is a local-first budgeting app built around envelope budgeting: every pound of income gets assigned to a category before it is spent, so the budget tells you what you can afford rather than reporting what you already did. Changes sync between devices through a small server you run or pay a few dollars a month for.
Because it is local-first the app works with no connection and stays fast with years of history. Bank imports are supported through file imports and, in some countries, automatic connections. It is free and MIT licensed with no upsell in the app.
