About Advanced IP Scanner
Advanced IP Scanner sweeps an address range and reports what answered: hostname, IP, MAC address, manufacturer, and any shared folders or FTP services. From the results list you can open a share, connect over RDP or Radmin, or send a remote shutdown to a Windows machine.
It runs without installation from a single portable executable, which is why it shows up on so many support technicians' USB sticks. That same convenience means it also shows up in ransomware incident reports as a tool attackers use after getting in, so treat its presence on a machine you did not put it on as a warning sign.
