About BoxBuddy
BoxBuddy is a graphical interface for Distrobox, the tool that runs other Linux distributions inside containers on your desktop. Instead of typing Distrobox commands, you can see and manage your boxes from a window.
It is written in Rust with a GNOME-style desktop integration and is packaged with Flatpak metadata. It suits Linux users, especially on immutable distributions, who use Distrobox but prefer a graphical app for day-to-day management.
Strengths
- Manages Distrobox containers without the command line
- Native Linux desktop app
- Packaged for Flatpak
Limitations
- Linux only
- Unofficial front end that depends on Distrobox being installed
