About dgVoodoo2
dgVoodoo2 reimplements old graphics APIs for Windows 7 and later on top of Direct3D 11 and 12. It covers Glide 2.11, 2.45, 3.1 and 3.1 Napalm, all versions of DirectDraw and Direct3D up to version 7, Direct3D 8.1 and Direct3D 9.
Output can use hardware rendering at GPU feature levels 10.0 to 12.0, or software rendering through Microsoft's WARP renderer. It suits people trying to get older Windows games, especially ones written for 3dfx cards, working on current hardware.
Strengths
- Covers Glide, DirectDraw and Direct3D 1 to 9 in one package
- Several output modes, from feature level 12.0 down to software rendering
- Lets games made for 3dfx cards run without the original hardware
Limitations
- Windows only
- Feature level 12.0 output still has some issues
- Browser safe-browsing services sometimes flag the download
