About DriveDx
DriveDx reads the SMART data reported by SSDs and hard drives and turns it into health indicators and early warnings, so you have a chance to copy important data off before a drive fails. It uses heuristics that can vary by drive model and firmware version.
It can run the drive's built-in self-tests to check whether a drive is faulty, and it can send automatic email reports, which is useful for Macs you do not sit in front of. It supports macOS 10.9 through macOS 26 and offers a free trial.
