About Fedora Media Writer

Fedora Media Writer can download the required Fedora image automatically and write it to a USB flash drive using direct device access, in the style of dd. It can also write other image files you already have.

Because writing replaces the drive's partition layout, it includes a Restore feature that reformats the stick for normal use afterwards. Builds are available for Windows, macOS and Linux, which suits people preparing a Fedora installer from whatever computer they have.

Strengths

  • Downloads the Fedora image for you
  • Restore feature returns the USB stick to normal use
  • Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux

Limitations

  • Built around Fedora images
  • Overwrites the whole drive when writing
