About GoldenEye 007 PC Port
GoldenEye 007 PC Port builds a native PC game from reconstructed Nintendo 64 source, with modern mouse, keyboard and controller support, widescreen and split-screen play. Windows and Linux releases are available; the Linux build also serves Steam Deck.
The current release needs a user-supplied US NTSC-U ROM. PAL and Japanese release support, macOS builds and final accuracy sign-off remain on the roadmap. The MIT license covers the original port layer and tooling rather than the inherited game decompilation.
Strengths
- Native Windows and Linux builds with Steam Deck support
- Mouse, keyboard, controller and split-screen support
- Uses your own game ROM without downloading game assets
Limitations
- Requires a US NTSC-U GoldenEye 007 ROM
- Current releases do not include macOS or PAL/JP support
- Port remains before its final 1.0 accuracy sign-off
- Upstream decompilation code is not covered by the port layer MIT license
