About Inkscape
Inkscape draws in vectors, so artwork prints and scales at any size without going soft. It handles basic shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients and grouping, plus node editing, layers, complex path operations, text on a path and direct SVG XML editing.
Its native format is standard SVG, which browsers and other applications already understand. It imports EPS, PostScript, JPEG, PNG, BMP and TIFF and exports PNG along with several vector formats.
