About krop

krop is a small desktop program for cropping the pages of PDF files. It is written in Python with PyQt and uses PyMuPDF, or alternatively pypdf, pikepdf or python-poppler-qt, to do the work.

Its distinctive feature is automatic splitting of each page into subpages sized for small screens, which helps on e-readers that cannot scroll comfortably. Cropping only changes which part of a page is shown; the hidden content stays in the file. It targets Linux, and macOS use via pip has been reported.
