About LFTP
LFTP is a command-line file transfer program that works with FTP, HTTP, SFTP, FISH and BitTorrent. Like Bash, it has job control and uses readline for input, so transfers can run in the background while you keep working. It has bookmarks, can transfer several files in parallel, and includes a mirror command for copying whole directory trees in either direction.
It was designed with reliability in mind and suits scripted or repeated transfers. Releases are infrequent: version 4.9.3 came out in November 2024, and the author notes he has little time to maintain it.
