About Nicotine+
Soulseek is a long-running peer-to-peer network built around music sharing, where you browse other people's shared folders directly and chat in topic rooms. Nicotine+ is the open-source client for it, written in Python with a GTK interface, and fully compatible with other Soulseek clients.
It focuses on usability over feature count: search, transfers, user browsing, chat rooms and private messages, with the refinements that make long sessions bearable. It runs on Linux, the BSDs, Haiku, illumos, Windows and macOS.
As with any peer-to-peer network, what you share and download is your responsibility, and the network is used for a lot of material whose distribution is not authorised.
