About picom
picom is a standalone compositor for the X11 window system. Minimal window managers such as i3, bspwm or Openbox do not composite windows themselves, and picom fills that gap by adding shadows, transparency, background blur, fading and window animations.
It is a descendant of compton and is actively developed on GitHub, with man pages and D-Bus examples in the repository. It suits people who run a lightweight X11 setup but want smoother visuals and tear-free drawing.
