About puddletag
puddletag is an audio tag editor made mainly for GNU/Linux and styled after the Windows program Mp3tag. Tags are laid out like a spreadsheet, so every field you want to edit by hand is visible at once.
It reads tags from filenames, renames files from their tags using patterns, and has functions for replacing, trimming and changing the case of text. Actions automate repetitive jobs, and web lookups through Discogs, MusicBrainz, Amazon and FreeDB can fetch tags and cover art. Supported formats include ID3v1, ID3v2, MP4, Vorbis Comments, Musepack, Monkey's Audio and WavPack.
