About Pure-FTPd

Pure-FTPd is a BSD-licensed FTP server that aims for efficiency and ease of use rather than extra features. It can run with privilege separation, or entirely as a non-root user using its built-in chroot emulation and virtual accounts. Optional TLS encryption through OpenSSL avoids sending passwords and commands in cleartext.

The same source code builds on Linux, macOS, the BSDs, Solaris and several commercial UNIX systems, and pre-built packages exist for most of them. Server messages are translated into more than twenty languages. It suits individuals and hosting providers who need to run their own FTP service.
