searchcode builds a report on a public repository. Paste a GitHub URL or owner/repo name and it returns a dossier covering languages, complexity, tech stack and code quality. It can also compare two repositories side by side.
It also runs as a remote MCP server. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot and other assistants then get tools such as code_analyze, code_search and code_get_file for any public repository. The aim is to let an assistant understand a new codebase with fewer tool calls and tokens.
