About SecureDrop

SecureDrop is software that media organizations and NGOs run themselves so sources can send documents and messages anonymously, using Tor Browser. It was originally coded by Aaron Swartz and is now maintained by Freedom of the Press Foundation, with the source interface available in 22 languages.

Journalists handle submissions through the separate SecureDrop Workstation and the SecureDrop Inbox, which receive regular releases. Installation and administration are documented in detail. It suits newsrooms with technical staff; sources only need Tor Browser and an organization's SecureDrop address.
