About Shairport Sync
Shairport Sync plays audio sent over AirPlay and AirPlay 2 from Apple devices, so a Raspberry Pi or other small computer attached to speakers or an amplifier shows up as an AirPlay target. It keeps playback in sync, which matters when several speakers play the same stream.
The project ships documentation for building, configuration, adding the device to the Apple Home app and car installs, plus a Docker setup. It is a long-running fork of the original shairport with thousands of commits.
