About Snowflake Volunteer
Snowflake Volunteer lets an Android user operate a volunteer proxy. People in places where Tor is blocked can connect through volunteer proxies in uncensored countries, with WebRTC helping make the connection resemble a voice or video call.
Running the app contributes proxy capacity; it does not provide a way for the volunteer to bypass censorship. Tor Browser or Orbot users select Snowflake as their connection option.
Strengths
- Lets Android users contribute a Snowflake proxy
- Uses WebRTC connections
- Does not require volunteers to know which websites users access
Limitations
- This app provides proxy capacity, not censorship circumvention for its operator
