About Synology Active Backup for Business

Active Backup for Business runs on a Synology NAS and manages backup tasks for physical and virtual machines from a single dashboard. An agent is deployed to Windows PCs and Macs, and backups can run on a schedule or be triggered by screen lock, sign-out or startup.

It supports system-level backup and bare-metal recovery using USB or ISO boot media. Global deduplication stores duplicate files only once across machines, and incremental backups with Changed Block Tracking copy only changed data to save bandwidth and storage.
