About BrowserOS
BrowserOS is a desktop web browser built on Chromium that adds AI agents able to carry out tasks on web pages for you. The project presents itself as an open-source alternative to agentic browsers such as ChatGPT Atlas, Perplexity Comet and Dia.
The agents can work with local language models, so the AI features do not have to depend on a cloud provider. The repository includes ungoogled-chromium licensing, and development is very active, with thousands of commits and a large number of stars and forks.
