About Brave
Brave is built on Chromium, so Chrome extensions and site compatibility carry over, but the ad and tracker blocking is part of the browser rather than an add-on. A shields panel on every site shows what was blocked and lets you loosen the rules for one domain when a page breaks.
The browser also ships a set of extras that not everyone wants: a rewards programme built on the BAT token, a crypto wallet, a built-in VPN sold as a subscription, and an AI assistant. All of them can be switched off in settings, and none are required to use the browser.
