About Buttercup
Buttercup is a cross-platform password manager built on Node.js and TypeScript. It stores passwords and other credentials in encrypted vault files (.bcup) that you can keep on your own computer or load from a cloud storage service, locked with one primary password.
The Buttercup project has come to an end and its repositories are becoming public archives. The last desktop release is 2.28.1 from September 2024, and issues and pull requests are no longer answered. Existing downloads stay online, but there will be no further updates or security fixes.
