Password Safe stores user names and passwords in an encrypted list unlocked by a single master password. It was originally designed by security technologist Bruce Schneier and has been downloaded more than five million times.

Features include autotype, automatic backups, two-factor authentication and a version that runs from a USB stick. It installs on Windows 7 and later, Linux packages are provided, and third-party apps can open the same database on other platforms.
