digiKam imports photos and videos from cameras, phones and cards and organises them into albums with tags and labels. It handles libraries of more than 100,000 images across local, removable and network storage, and can keep its database on a local or remote server.

On top of organisation it edits: raw processing, colour correction, cropping, retouching, filters and batch processing across many photos at once. Face detection tags people automatically, advanced search covers tags, labels, dates and geolocation, and there are tools for publishing to social media, slideshows and web galleries.
