About dupeGuru

dupeGuru has three modes. Standard compares filenames and contents, Music mode compares tags, and Picture mode compares images by appearance so a resized or re-encoded copy is still matched. Results are grouped with a reference file, and you decide what happens to the rest.

Deletion is deliberately cautious: files can be moved to the recycle bin, replaced with links, or just moved elsewhere. The project is in maintenance and its last release was July 2022, with the author asking for help on macOS and Linux packaging.
