About Emulicious

Emulicious emulates the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega Master System, Game Gear and MSX, with a focus on accurate emulation. It runs on Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi OS and macOS using bundled Java binaries, so Java does not need to be installed separately.

Beyond playing games it offers savestates, turbo, IPS patching and automatic updates, plus a set of development tools: a debugger with reverse stepping, profiler, tracer, coverage analyzer, memory editor, tile, sprite and palette viewers, and remote debugging. That makes it popular with homebrew developers.

Strengths

  • Five systems in one program
  • Extensive debugger with reverse stepping and remote debugging
  • Many viewers and tools for homebrew development
  • No separate Java install required

Limitations

  • Built on Java rather than native code
  • Source code is not published
