About File Pilot
File Pilot is a standalone replacement for Windows Explorer, distributed as a download of about 2.5 MB that runs on Windows 7 to 11. It supports panel layouts and tabs arranged by drag and drop, a command palette, and full keyboard as well as mouse control.
Search can flatten entire folder trees or drives and filter by extension with fuzzy matching. An inspector previews text, images and folders in place, and a batch rename tool can insert unique IDs or file dates. Themes, hotkeys and saved layouts are customisable. It is still in beta.
