About Fission
Fission handles simple audio edits: joining files, cropping and trimming, splitting long recordings, adding fades and editing metadata. Its edits do not re-encode audio, so MP3 and AAC files keep their original quality.
A batch converter exports dozens of files at once to MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC, AIFF or WAV. It is aimed at quick editing jobs rather than multitrack production, and comes from Rogue Amoeba, the developer of Audio Hijack and Loopback.
