About GNOME System Monitor
GNOME System Monitor shows which applications are using the processor or memory, and lets you stop unresponsive processes or change the state and priority of running ones. A resources view graphs recent processor, memory and network usage, and a file systems view lists mounted drives and their space.
It is the default system monitor on the GNOME desktop and suits Linux users who want a simple graphical task manager. Version 51.0 was released in September 2026.
