About Island

Island uses Android's managed profile feature, the same mechanism behind Android for Work, to create an isolated sandbox on Android 5.0 and later. Apps cloned into Island cannot reach personal data outside it, such as call logs, contacts and photos, even when those permissions are granted. Device-bound data such as SMS and the IMEI stays accessible.

Isolated apps can be frozen on demand, which hides their launcher icon and blocks their background activity. No root is needed. A clone can also run alongside the original, signed in to a different account.
