About MediaInfo
MediaInfo reads a media file and reports the technical detail in one readable panel: container format, video and audio codecs, bitrate, resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, colour space, bit depth, every audio and subtitle track with its language, plus tag data. It is the tool you use when a file will not play somewhere and you need to know why.
It exists as a command-line tool on every desktop platform and as several different graphical front ends for Windows and Linux, with native interfaces on Android, iOS and macOS. Output can be plain text, HTML, XML, JSON or a custom template, which makes it scriptable for cataloguing a library.
It is BSD licensed, so it is free for commercial use as well.
