About Pacparser
Pacparser parses proxy auto-config (PAC) files, the scripts browsers use to decide which proxy server to use for a given URL. Alongside the library it includes tools to test a PAC file against URLs, which helps network administrators check proxy rules before rolling them out.
The project also runs an online PAC file tester on its homepage. It builds on Windows and Unix-like systems, is actively maintained and is released under the LGPL 3.0.
Strengths
- Tests which proxy a PAC file returns for a URL
- Online tester available as well as local tools
- Actively maintained
Limitations
- Narrow purpose, only for PAC files
- Mainly a library, so the command-line tools are basic
