About PowerTOP
PowerTOP helps work out why a Linux machine uses more power than it should. It reports which devices and processes are drawing power and shows the state of power management settings, which is useful for improving battery life on laptops or reducing idle draw on servers.
It runs in a terminal and the repository includes a systemd service file. The project is maintained on GitHub, but patches are taken through a mailing list rather than pull requests.
