About Sanoid

Sanoid automates OpenZFS snapshots. You describe a policy in a configuration file, for example how many hourly, daily and monthly snapshots to keep for each dataset. Sanoid then takes and prunes snapshots on schedule. The companion tool syncoid replicates datasets and their snapshots to another pool or to a remote machine.

The repository also includes monitoring helpers such as a disk space check. Instructions cover Linux and FreeBSD. Btrfs support is shelved, so it works with ZFS only.
