About GNU Parted
GNU Parted manipulates partition tables, which is useful for making room for a new operating system, reorganizing disk usage, copying data between disks and disk imaging. The package includes the parted command-line front end, which can also be driven from scripts, and the libparted library that other tools build on.
It suits Linux users and administrators who work in a terminal. Those who prefer a graphical interface can use GParted, a separate front end.
