About Tribler
Tribler is a decentralised torrent client for Windows, macOS and Linux. It routes downloads and seeding through its own Tor-like onion network with encryption, and includes built-in search so content can be found without a torrent website.
The developers state plainly that its anonymity is not yet mature and does not protect against government agencies; it aims to guard against lawyer-based attacks and censorship. It is a non-profit research project, with stable, pre-release and experimental builds available.
