About Gaupol

Gaupol is a desktop editor for text-based subtitle files. It supports multiple subtitle formats and provides tools for creating subtitles, editing timing and text, and translating an existing file into another language.

It is written in Python and its subtitle handling lives in a separate library called aeidon. A Flatpak build is maintained in the repository. It suits people who work on subtitle text and timing rather than video editing.
