About Profanity
Profanity is a terminal XMPP client inspired by Irssi and built with ncurses and libstrophe. It supports one-to-one chat and multi-user chat rooms, roster management, resource and priority settings, and desktop notifications. Messages can be encrypted with OMEMO, OTR or PGP.
Plugins can be written in Python or C, and there is a theme gallery for changing its look. It runs on Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, macOS and Windows, and on Android through Termux. It suits people who already spend their day in a terminal and use XMPP.
