About Recuva
Recuva recovers deleted pictures, music, documents, videos, emails and other files from a Windows computer, the recycle bin, camera memory cards, external hard drives, USB sticks and MP3 players. It can also recover from damaged or newly formatted drives, and a deep scan mode searches for traces of files that a quick scan misses.
A secure overwrite feature does the opposite, removing files you want gone for good. A free version is available, with a paid Pro edition.
